For individuals with the Iris system, a gas valve would be a great idea especially in rural areas. typical gas valves aren’t much different than a water valve and could be controlled in almost the same way. If the CO2 sensor was triggered then the gas would be shut off and possibly eliminating the problem. And if there was a ceiling fan in the system it would come on circulating air to help dissipate any CO2 gasses. And if a fire was detected then the valve could be closed eliminating any accelerants. Possibly saving a life or property from further damage. With all of the technology out there I haven’t seen anything on the market that has the capabilities to be able to shut off the gas without having to call the gas companies. This would be a vital link in any home that has gas fed appliances to be able to control any emergency problems.
